In this hands-on studio course, students should learn the art of portraiture through a cross-disciplinary approach to rendering the human facial anatomy. Starting with sculptural processes, students will develop fundamental skills which will then be applied to two-dimensional painting and drawing techniques in portraiture. Form, shape, and proportions of facial structure and expressions are explored. Studio work will be supported by demonstrations, slide presentations, and critique.
Please note that courses may fill up early or be cancelled due to low enrollment. Students are encouraged to register early, at least ten (10) days prior to the start date of the course.
