Course Description

Florence Studio

The Creator in Residence Open Residency supports the participation of artists, designers, writers and any creative practitioners that can benefit from the time and space to develop their practice in a studio environment. Participants receive access to studio space in a quiet shared palazzo in Florence’s San Marco neighbourhood. The residency includes an introductory Italian lesson, group community events, studio visits with local practitioners and a facilitated weekly group critique session.

Who should take this course:
This program is flexible to suit the needs of creative practices at various levels and media. This is an opportunity to dedicate time to your practice, or experiment with new processes and considerations. It is ideal for individuals who want to further their own studio or written work, with a structure that will provide a new context and framework for them to do so within.

Note: Participants must be over 18. Our studio cannot support the use of some materials/processed such as stone and marble carving. Please inquire if you have any questions about these specifics.

We are all hoping this will be a successful venture. Please understand, however, that OCAD U reserves the right to modify or cancel the course  should the enrolment be insufficient to cover costs. If the course be cancelled you will receive a full tuition refund. OCAD U is unable to reimburse students for flights booked so please contact us to ensure the course is confirmed to run before booking your flights.
