Course Description

This studio course introduces students to the fundamentals of pattern making and construction techniques for fashion industry bottoms. Students should learn key aspects of pattern manipulation to develop various styles of skirts and pants in relation to fashion industry standard sizing. Topics include material research, fabric selection, style, and contemporary trends. Students should gain knowledge of both the functional and creative features of clothing design related to bottoms. The final project will be the development of a simple prototype from each student's original design.

Students are required to have basic sewing skills to take this course.

After enrolling in a course, please allow up to 5 hours for your student data to migrate to Canvas. Please note that courses may fill up early or be cancelled due to low enrollment. Students are encouraged to register early, at least ten (10) days prior to the start date of the course.
