Course Description

This course is designed for students looking to enrich their understanding of two-dimensional design so they can apply design concepts and techniques in their workplace and creative practice. Through a combination of lectures, online research, and hands-on assignments, students will be introduced to the core principles of two-dimensional design and learn how to create successful design solutions in any medium.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Gain understanding of key two-dimensional design concepts and techniques for using them.
- Demonstrate an understanding of design as an intellectual process.
- Apply two-dimensional design elements and principles through simple, structured exercises.
- Develop the ability to interpret and critically analyze two-dimensional design in creative work.
Students are responsible for purchasing their own software. Adobe CC is required for this course. Adobe CC Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign will be needed to complete assignments.
