CSFD-N201 - Fashion Design Fundamentals: Pattern Drafting 2: Bodices and Dresses
Course Description
This studio course introduces students to the fundamentals of pattern making and construction techniques for fashion industry tops. Students should learn primary aspects of pattern manipulation to develop various styles of bodices (upper body) and dresses represented in the apparel industry. Students should explore fabric selection, contemporary trends, and various draping techniques. Form, function, and creativity of clothing design will be explored. The final project will be the development of a simple prototype from each student's original design. Basic materials required for this course will be provided, students may need to purchase additional materials that are specific to their designs.
Students are required to have basic sewing skills to take this course.

Recommended Prerequisites
CSFD-N101 Pattern Drafting 1 or equivalent experience; and basic sewing knowledge.
